So, the month of March has already gotten off to a great start with three new adds!
First up is the Jason Nevins remix of “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson. Next up is Intenso Project’s “Get It On.” That one was played in the mix the other night. And finally, there’s the DJ X remix of Mario’s “Let Me Love You.”
There had been speculation for some weeks as to which songs would be added next. And some of these were thought to be the next adds, and low and behold they have been added! Enjoy these new ones.

Toni Braxton Remix Album
Finally! Ms. Braxton's remixes are finally being issued in a complete album. Also, there are some unreleased mixes too. This article in Billboard Magazine summarizes this best.
Unreleased Cuts Bolster Braxton Remix Disc- Jonathan Cohen, NY
Five previously unreleased tracks will be found on the upcoming Toni Braxton set "Un-Break My Heart: The Remix Collection," Billboard.com has learned. Due April 12 via LaFace/Legacy, the 11-track set features Braxton's four No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play tally: "Spanish Guitar," "Un-Break My Heart," "I Don't Want To" and "You're Makin' Me High/Let It Flow."
The unreleased versions comprise Joe Clausell's Main Mix of "Spanish Guitar," a club mix of "Hit the Freeway" by HQ2 (DJ duo Hex Hector and Mac Quayle), mixes of "He Wasn't Man Enough" by Peter Rauhofer and Junior Vasquez and a remix of "Maybe" that blends work by HQ2 and fellow DJ duo Dynamix.
Among the previously released tracks rounded up on the set are Frankie Knuckles' Franktidrama club mix of "Un-Break My Heart" and David Morales' Classic mix of "You're Makin' Me High."
Braxton released five studio albums for Arista before signing a new deal in 2003 with Blackground. The status of her first release as part of that pact is unknown.
Here is the track list for "Un-Break My Heart: The Remix Collection":
"Intro"
"Un-Break My Heart" (Soul Hex Anthem Vocal)
"Spanish Guitar" (HQ2 Club Mix)
"You're Makin' Me High" (David Morales Classic Mix)
"I Don't Want To" (Frankie Knuckles Franktified Club Mix)
"Hit the Freeway" (HQ2 Club Mix) Featuring Loon
"He Wasn't Man Enough" (Peter Rauhofer NYC Club Mix)
"He Wasn't Man Enough" (Junior Vasquez Marathon Mix)
"Maybe" (HQ2/Dynamix NYC Club Mix)
"Un-Break My Heart" (Frankie Knuckles Franktidrama Club Mix)
"Spanish Guitar" (Joe Clausell Main Mix)

This week at Energy
- Overview
For the third straight week, there hasn't been any new adds. The five adds for the month of February have made some gains in airplay, but hearing some more new ones would be great. The mixshows have featured some good new tracks as usual, but no new adds. The month of February is coming to an end and the month of March is about to start, so let's hope for some new adds.
- Some add suggestions
Energy has added a good number of dance tracks this year, and they are slowly making their way up the playlist. There are still some songs that must be added simply because they are good and they could do well on the station. Here are some suggestions.
Shapeshifters - Back To Basics
This is the follow-up to the number one smash “Lola’s Theme.” This is a great piece of female vocal house. This doesn’t officially release until March on Positiva (UK). The promos have already been available for some time now, and the buzz surrounding this track has been deafening. A must-add.
Mariah Carey - It’s Like That
This is the first single off of La C’s forthcoming album The Emancipation Of Mimi. This one is slowly making its way up on the Billboard Hot 100 in its original mix. Remixes by long-time collaborator David Morales and Peter Rauhofer round out this release. Either of these mixes could bring Mariah some success in the clubs and on dance radio. Another must-add.
Narcotic Thrust - When The Dawn Breaks
This is one of few male-fronted vocal tracks that could really do well as the previous hit "I Like It" did just a while ago. This track has gotten a couple plays within the mixshows.
Intenso Project - Get It On
This one made its first appearance on the airwaves last Friday during the mix. This is a fun little track, also male-fronted that brings to mind some of Daft Punk's Discovery-era material. This has already made a splash on the other side of the Atlantic, let's see how it'll do here.
Iio - Runaway
In it's Ford Radio Mix, this track could do what "Rapture", "At The End", and "Smooth" did during the last couple of years. It's an amazing vocal track.
Xscape - Wassup
This is a full-on club track that has a total retro feel to it. It contains samples from "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa and Debbie Deb's "When I Hear Music." This might be this year's "Move Your Body". Look out for this one. It's going to be huge during spring break.
Erasure - Breathe
This is an amazing track. Erasure has been on the music scene for many years now. In the LMC remix, this track is just simply great. The vocals, the synths, the beat. Need I say more?

Xscape - Wassup
This is the first song off of Xscape's next album. This song is really hot! It's a club oriented track in the version currently circulating. The version currently making the rounds contains samples from Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force's classic "Planet Rock." It's the beats and the bassline that are sampled. This track may be going the route that Nivea's "Don't Mess With My Man" did a couple of years ago. In the promoted version, the track contained sampled beats and bassline from Snoop Dogg's "B-Please". Then the original mix came out soon after. The remix went to be known as the Scorpion Mix.
Wild 94.9 has been playing this in their mixes lately. Let's hope Energy jumps on this one early.

What's new this week?
- For the second straight week there were no adds. But considering how many adds they were a couple of weeks ago, too much too soon could be a bad thing. The five new adds have made gains in airplay and are slowly making their way up the playlist.
- Eric Prydz's international hit "Call On Me" made an unexpected gain and has reigned at the top of the playlist steadily for over a week now. How long can this last? Probably for a couple more days. My prediction is that "Walk Into The Sun" by Dirty Vegas will be the next Energy track to make it to number one.
- And in this weeks edition of Songs that are MIA (missing in action), the latest casualty is Despina Vandi's "Gia." It was getting played, and then it just vanished just like many other tracks before it. Considering that the song made an impressive gain from the 30's to the top 10 for a few days, it's a shame. This track will definitely be missed as well.

Songs that are/Songs that could be MIA
It's absolutely obvious that certain songs that got a good amount or some airplay on Energy 92.7 have gone missing in action.
Songs that are MIA (missing in action) already
Rupee - Tempted To Touch
This one had been the number one song on the playlist just a few weeks ago. What happened? It's also one of this year's most-played songs. Not anymore.
Reina - If I Close My Eyes
This one is definitely missed.
Wynonna - I Want To Know What Love Is
This one had not even completed its run at the station. Not even in recurrent play. It's only been played since October!
Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On
Same thing as Rupee's hit track.
Alicia Keys - Diary
This was an excellent track. It hadn't even gone through its national run yet, and it's already gone! This could have done really well.
Songs that could be MIA (missing in action) soon
Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath
This one won't be missed for awhile. This got slightly overplayed. Okay, it was terribly overplayed. Maybe it'll be nice to hear it again in a couple of months after we have had a chance to get over the shock from hearing it so often. When this song came out, I couldn't wait for it to get added to this station because I thought it could do well. It did. It ended up suffering the fate as many other previous Destiny's Child songs. Too much play of the songs make them lose their shelf life.
Deborah Cox - Easy As Life
This was a great song, and it will be missed if and when the airplay stops for this one.
Milky - Just The Way You Are
This is a pretty good song that has that uplifting filter disco feel of the 70's, and it's too bad that they won't play it much.

What's hot now
Only 36 days have passed in this new year. That's almost 10% of a whole year! Wow! A lot of good new music has come out in the last month, and even more is coming soon!
Just a couple days after the new year started, Ministry Of Sound (UK) released new remixes of Dana Rayne's "Object Of My Desire." The Northstar vs PPS remix is the pick here. Ultra Records in the U.S. released this track back in 2002. This song has really been 2 years in the making. This song is a cover of Starpoint's 1985 hit of the same name. The video to this song is quite cute as well.
M.O.S. is already off to a good start. They have made history again by trying a new experiment that is already working. DJs/producers Matt Brooks and Nick Barnes, known to Radio1 fans as the Cut Up Boys have worked with Ministry Of Sound to bring about a set of really hot and creative mashups. Official promos of their work have already gone out, and the songs have gotten some play on radio stations in the UK. The UK is not the only place where these songs are hot. San Francisco's own Energy 92.7 has already jumped on these tracks. Major props to DJ Trevor Simpson for breaking those tracks within the Weekend Kick Off Mix just as they have released in the UK. Two 12" promos are currently available containing the mashups. A double CD set containing more will be coming out later in the month of February. The 4 available mash ups include the following: Danzel's "Pump It Up" and Zombie Nation's "Kernkraft 400" form "Pump It Zombie", Rozalla's "Everybody's Free" and The Stellar Project's "Get Up Stand Up" form "Everybody Get Up Stand Up", iiO's "Rapture (Tastes So Sweet)" and Deepest Blue's "Give It Away" form "Give It Rapture", and last but certainly not least, Angel City's "Love Me Right (Oh Sheila)" and Pied Piper's "Do You Really Like It" form "Do You Really Love Me Right." Each pair is on one of the promos. Energy 92.7 has been playing the last two for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully these songs will get added into regular airplay. In case you might have missed these unique records, check out the link for some complete samples.
Shapeshifters:UK are back with "Back To Basics" on Positiva (UK) . This is a followup of sorts to the international smash "Lola's Theme." This track is done in a similar way. It's a retro-sounding vocal anthem that beckons the listener to listen to it again and again. It's really catchy, just as the previous release was. This comes out officially in a few weeks.
Full Intention mixes of Jennifer Lopez's latest single "Get Right" are all over the place right now. This is off of her next album ReBirth. The remixes are pretty good.
And Mariah Carey is back with a hot new song called "It's Like That." The original mix is pretty good. It's a hip hop track and it is burning up the airwaves as I type this. Dance mixes are coming soon! Rumor has it that Mariah has teamed up with long-time collaborator David Morales for a remix. That means she re-sang the vocals! Yes! And a remix with Peter Rauhofer is slated to be coming as well. The full album The Emancipation Of Mimi will be dropping in April. An amateur mix of "It's Like That" has been making the rounds via mp3s and promos. Here is a low quality sample of it. It takes about 30 seconds to start after you click Free when the site opens. It's not bad, but it sounds like a beat has just been put under her song, which is probably how this remix came to be. Hear a sample of "It's Like That" in it's original mix here. It'll stop working after 3 plays. Buy the Original at Apple's iTunes Music Store.
As of now, iiO's album Poetica will finally see a commercial release in May. Samples of tracks from their album are available at their website. "Runaway" in the Ford Mix is really hot right now.
Despina Vandi's 2nd U.S. album Come Along Now was recently issued on Ultra Records. This is a single disc album featuring some songs from her first album plus English versions and some new songs. This is a must-have for those who didn't get the first album. The English version of "Olo Lipis" is amazing! Very similar to a Delerium, Enigma, and DJ Tiesto track all rolled into one with Despina's vocals leading you. Excellent track.
And DJ Tiesto's Perfect Remixes CD is coming later on in the month. It includes his remix of "Eugina" by Salt Tank. Highly essential for fans of Tiesto.

Wild 94.9 plays Eric Prydz!
Wild 94.9 has added Eric Prydz's "Call On Me" to their mixshows. Almost 6 months late. Better late than never, right?
