Suzanne Palmer - Keep The Faith

Yet another single off of Ms. Palmer's album Home is being released! And just like the others, this is a perfect choice!

This pulpit-pounding, neo-gospel house track is quite amazing in its original form. However, there are some remixes.

Star 69 commissioned a bunch of remixes from some names that have not been seen juxtaposed with Suzanne's name yet. It's great to see some variety.

Offer Nissim, DJ Exacta, Jamie J. Sanchez and Wayne G & Pori Young have done mixes this time.

Offer takes the song in a darker, minimal house direction. Suzanne's soaring vocals are highlighted in this mix.

On the other hand, DJ Exacta, Jamie J. Sanchez and Wayne G & Pori Young make it more uplifting and housey. All three mixes have that "hands in the air" kind of feel to them.

Exacta's mix is quite housey as is Jamie's mixes. Wayne & Pori's mix is a whole lot circuit-ish.

All in all, this is a great remix package with a little something for everyone.

Star 69 is already selling the mixes for pay-download on their site. The official release date is July 11, 2006. However, the mixes are already available there for sampling and purchasing. Just in time for Pride!

Go out and get these!

Kim English - My Destiny (Album)

Kim is back again! She still definitely has--she reached the number one position on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart several weeks back with "It Makes A Difference."

My Destiny is an album/remixes collection featuring 10 main tracks and 2 bonus tracks. "Nitelife", "Treat Me Right" and "Everyday" have been previously released. "Nitelife" has a new mix this time around. Whereas the other two are included because they have not been released on any Kim English album yet.

The album is a mixture of soulful house and a little light R&B. And there's several more darker, progressive tracks too.

The DJ Exacta Remix of "My Destiny" and the Hex Hector Club Mix of "C'est La Vie" are missing from this collection. However, it's still quite early and there's a pretty good chance that those will see some sort of release soon. Junior Vasquez has been playing both of those tracks in the mix for some time now.

This is currently out as a promo right now, but a commercial release should come soon.

Loleatta Holloway - Love Sensation '06

This has been remixed/remade for the umpteenth time!

There are mixes for this by Hi_Tack, Freemasons, Doc Phatt, Dead Stereo (aka Bimbo Jonse), and 7th Heaven.

They actually utilized the original vocals from the 1980 dance classic. Instead of just looping one or two lines over and over, they use the full vocals.

The Hi_Tack and Freemasons mixes are really great. The Hi_Tack mixes are really synthy and edgy. Kinda on the harder side. They're a nice bridge between house and trance songs when playing it in a set. The Freemasons mixes are very housey. Samples from the original version are actually in the remix. A dub of this mix would be wonderful too.

There is also a remake going around by Eddie Thoenick & Kurd Maverick. However, the vocals on that one are not by Loleatta because they reportedly could not get the sample cleared. The Hi_Tack remixes sound very similar to the ET & KM track, also called "Love Sensation." On the promos it says, "Better than your best bootleg", taking a nice subtle jab at the ET & KM mess.

There are several promos and maxi singles out now for this, but the best one with the Hi_Tack and Freemasons mixes was released in the Netherlands. Hunt this one down immediately!

Tracklisting:
01. Hi_Tack Burnin' Up Radio Mix (3:01)
02. Freemasons Radio Mix (3:07)
03. Hi_Tack Burnin' Up Club Mix (7:43)
04. Freemasons Club Mix (9:13)
05. Original Mix (6:33)

Janet Jackson - Weekend

Janet Jackson finally made the announcement on her website today...she had a little "gift" for the fans: a cover of Debbie Deb's freestyle classic "Look Out Weekend." Although it is not the first single off of her upcoming album (tentatively late Summer/early Fall), and it may not even be on the album, she wanted to put something out.

This track is a fun little dance track. Although it may not fare too well on Urban and Pop radio, this has the potential to do well on Dance radio, if they give it a chance.

Go to her website to hear it.
